At Perthshire Preserves we make seasonal jellies using the Bramley Apple and flavoured with a taste of the countryside. This Spring we came up with using gorse to mix into the apples. Although it is prickly to pick it is well worth it as the jelly takes on a hint of coconut or pineapple. It can be using on toast but we like it with chicken, venison or with a lovely pork chop from your local butchers.
We forage for the blossom giving us a much needed excuse to get out into the countryside to pick the flowers.
We also make redcurrant jelly and quince jelly when the fruits are available to us. Our jellies are popular at country and farmers markets. We are at Perth, Pitlochry and Aberfeldy in the next couple of weeks. We do not sell them on line but they can be purchased directly from our unit in Stirling or at any Farmers Market in which we attend.
